How does eBay justify in attaching additional seller fees to shipping
costs? Anybody that has ever sold anything on eBay understands that
shipping costs involve more than just the actual cost of postage. So is
it safe to assume that eBay is profiting...

That's the ploy - to make the selling experience so complicated that
it's overwhelming and lost on most people. Unless you're a substantial
seller who relies on this as a means of business, it just isn't worth
your time wading through all their jargo...
