PCM/ECU - Backup file corrupt??

Just asking if anyone here has tried to tune any used ECU or PCM . IM stuck with "corrupt backup" and will not save backup therefore I cannot tune my vehicle. Any suggestions around this obstacle would be greatly appreciated,. Thanks
