No returns, sold as is, buyer always wins case. So not fair!!!

Sold a film camera and 2 lens. Sold as untested, and no returns. I agreed full refund of item, but asked buyer to pay return shipping.Buyer opened a case and got, purchase price and return shipping. So not fair!!!What is best way to avoid this?
