What is up with the eBay search engine? I try a search, then exclude a
word to narrow it down. If I exclude a second word to further narrow the
search, I actually get more results instead of less.

Actually, your answer just gave me an idea. Instead of going through
eBay's Send Offer link, I went to the item in question in my Active
Listing feed, clicked Send Offers for that item alone, and it worked.
