Seller asked FedEx to return the item mid-shipment. Now what?

I bought an item. The seller has FedEx route it back to him mid-shipment. I can't find a selection for that on Ebay and I have no idea how to get my money back. any ideas? The seller is vague and made it sound like he has no idea why I went back.
