My iPad has been trying to do this update for nearly three days, anyone else been having problems or can advise what I can do?

I am having the same trouble, the update has been trying to update for nearly 3 days, the spinning wheel never progresses. switiching my iPad off and back on made no difference not did closing the iTunes app and reopening it. Help!
