ebay unfair to sellers

why does ebay have such distain for its sellers. Up untill 4 weeks ago I was a top rated seller with 100% feedback (1150 transactions) then I made the mistake of selling to low rated buyers (little or now feedback), at which point I recieved 2 neutral and 1 neg feedback, one was for dust in the bottom of a vase, second was not as described shoe size, when detailed measurements were provided, and my favorite was not shipping to a non verified address, all resulted in my calling customer (non) support, at which time I was denied any resolution, now as a result my seller rating was lowered and my funds are pending on paypal. So I removed all of my listings, canceled my current active auctions and will be moving on, I am sorry I wasted 4 years of my time thinking ebay was great, when it is a terrible environment for sellers, and the people who make policy should be terminated. Just type ebay unfair to its sellers in Google and look at the thousands of complaints. I will be making it my mission to trash ebay on every venue possible, and I will be in good company, also paypal is a joke, 4 years of flawless transactions and they put my funds on hold?????????????????????

Your mom can put in this woman's feedback that she is a scam artist and beware to other sellers. At least a warning to other sellers about this scum.

Re: ebay unfair to sellers totally agree

I had a buyer that said I stated something I didnt that was in my description.  So he wanted refund and gave him a refund and item was never returned. Ebay did nothing about it. Said he is one of our best ebayers.I will never use paypal or ebay. Their rules and regulations are terrible.

Re: ebay unfair to sellers totally agree

I would suggest getting out of ebay and go in to prepping. This country can't sustain the onslaught of foriegners entering the country. Your getting upset about a situation that aint going to be anything like the situation this country is going to go thru. I would suggest to stop selling to people because rip offs are going to become worse.  I got out of selling on Ebay.

The problem is fraudulent buyers know this  and instead of saying it doesn’t fit or they don’t like it they know the way around the system and say it’s not as described.   I pay hundreds of dollars a month to eBay... perfect feedback and now 2 fraudulent buyers and my seller level below standard? Since 2000 I have had above standard level.  They try to punish us by lowering our selling level?  Do they realize we just slowly go away to another platform  and eventually have nothing? I say screw them... moving nicer things to poshmark where the frauds are weeded out.

Re: ebay unfair to sellers totally agree

Re: ebay unfair to sellers totally agree

Yes, I also agree that eBay is unfair to sellers, they side with the buyer no matter what the case may be.  Another thing I disagree with are all the ads for other companies they throw on my listings that I pay a monthly fee for my store.  If I didn't pay a subscription or have any fees; then yes put what you want on there.  But I am paying for my competitors to be on my page and sending customers to them; that is so WRONG!!  And the Mobile App is a JOKE!  There are so many other ads shoved in there, its really confusing and hard to tell whats part of the listing or something else.  And this is why just this week I had someone order 3 pair of pants and then wants to return them because they don't have spandex in them.  My listing clearly indicates 100% cotton.  If they didn't have so much to sift threw that has nothing to do with what I'm selling, maybe they would take the time to read it and would have know before purchasing the items.  I have been a seller since 2003 and I have become so disappointed in all the hoops eBay makes us as sellers jump thru just to save a few bucks and they say its so it will make it a better experience for the buyers.  There has to be sellers in order to have buyers!!

Re: ebay unfair to sellers totally agree

I just spoke to a lady and she confirmed me that buyers do not have to follow sellers own policy set forth on the listings.

My Fish arrived DOA, and buyer want full refund. My listing says I do not refund shipping fees. It will be deducted, and Guess what. BUYER STILL WIN THE FULL REFUND!

I just Lost $48. Profit: -$48 Real profit is supposed to be around $5. Each transaction adds up, so no hard feeling.

But the goal of making $5 just made me lost $48. That's a huge impact on me.

I am moving my business. I lost hope. In fact, I am still new to Ebay and already this.

Re: ebay unfair to sellers totally agree

Yup and then after you lose your butt. And at the end of the year you get to pay taxes ON ALL THAT MONEY YOU MADE.... They dont subtract for the hassle and time you spend making auctions. Our sorry government is why I bailed out. You get nickle and dime'd on ebay and then its tax time.? It is not worth the hassle.

Re: ebay unfair to sellers totally agree

We are not being taxed as income. EBay added sales tax to seller fees. These taxes are calculated according to the country you live in. In the USA and Canada, sales taxes are calculated according to the state/province you live in. If you notice on the statement, eBay's account is in Switzerland. I wonder what other new fees will be introduced in April.

Re: ebay unfair to sellers totally agree

Hi. No, here in Canada we get a T4 tax slip for any income. I did not get one last year. Maybe it is because I did not make a lot of money. Do you get taxed on the entire transaction, including shipping? I don't think this is fair since we must pay to ship any item.

My daughter had a buyer purchase some Ojon creams, which have become very hard to find. The entire transaction amount was about $750.00 CAD. The buyer first asked for free shipping, but since the package weighed so much that could not be done. My daughter purchased extra insurance to cover the entire amount at no extra cost to the buyer. The buyer received the items, left positive feedback, and said she was happy with the entire transaction. After three months, she filed a claim with her credit card company stating that it was an unauthorized payment. My daughter kept all of the emails between them and passed them on to Pay Pal. She filed the claim with Pay Pal, not eBay, as the time had elapsed on eBay for her to file a claim. It took another three months for the credit card company to conclude their investigation and find in my daughter's favour. This buyer purchased similar high end beauty products from different sellers and I am sure tried to pull this stunt before. Sometimes it helps to keep all correspondence between buyers and sellers, especially there is a substantial dollar amount involved.

Re: ebay unfair to sellers totally agree

Here in the U.S. our scummy government doesnt see your shipping fees, ebay and paypal fees. All they see is what payments you recieved. This means you have to save all shipping receireceiand we know ebay 10% and as I was buying from ebay and selling on ebay. So i was supposed to save all reciepts from my purchases?. If you buy from ebay and sell on ebay the chances are you wont get rich. You might make 2 or $3.00 sometimes. But the IRS doesnt see all your time effort or shipping mailers?. All they see is what you RAKED IN???. And its your fight to prove you didnt make all profit. My W-4 says i raked in $15,000 in a year?. No i did not. And i thought the year of 2019 was the starting not the first year of collecting?. I dropped selling right then.

Its the same as at a casino. You win $5,000 and thats all the IRS knows. Not the $4,000 you lost over the years before you won it..
