I have buyers that never pay and never communicate. When I go to leave feedback, all I know get are the choices of "positive" or "I'll leave feedback later". Why can't I leave negative feedback anymore?

i m with eBay 17 yrs i had NO issue before now days too many Deadbeat, you are Right eBay is not looking after there Seller, happen with me i sold factory sealed box item and Seller ask me refund just for Change his mind and leave me Negative FB but i cannot leave Negative FB thats not acceptable and eBay does not Help me either for this Case.

Just found this conversation because I've been trying to sell a few computer parts, and have suddenly had an issue with buyers winning and then disappearing. On the first occurrence I opened a case, then when I re-listed the item the SAME guy won it again. I discovered the block feature at that point, but now that it's up a 3rd time a similar looking account is doing the same thing to me. When I look at feedback, of course it's 100% positive - but many of the "positive" ratings note the same non-payment pattern.

This isn't just random idiots, people are clearly abusing Ebay's system. I don't know if it's to block competing items or what but Ebay has a big hole here that allows these frauduent accounts to kill off auctions.

Agree, but I would block anyone with any non payment strike no matter the length. What happened to your word in an agreement?

Same Here!!! Can't leave negative feedback. Not fair. And I looked at their purchases and it's all positive, but then again, we can't leave negative. It's costing me time and money and I'm not a huge seller. Just a small fish, but still, it's so aggravating. They need to fix the problems, too many other selling sites out there now! I've been havintg great luck with Mercari!

ebay does not want buyers to fear they may be called out for doing exactly what your concerns are. instead, it's like school, actually more like a pre school without rules where the kids are out of control. buyers do not have to pay nor do they have to reply to your messages or an unpaid item case because...they can.
buyers can give any excuse they want...my cat kept hitting the buy it now button & bought 11,000 cans of tuna, i died, came back, saw how much husband spent on ebay & almost died again...

It does leave the sellers susceptible. It should be more balanced to protect buyers and sellers. I have a recent buyer, order the wrong Polarized lens and blame me. What???

Buyer buys item...never opens it...3 weeks later lies and says it’s broken and forces return. Item received works perfectly. Buyers lie and don’t care because I can’t do a thing about it as a seller except deal with problems caused by our lack of any control on here. Goodbye Ebay.

I literally just started selling stuff on eBay this month after being a buyer since the 1990s, and got my first extortion refund-attempt this week. She's incredibly obvious, but it's downright disheartening to see how little support or protection eBay offers sellers. No way to leave her negative feedback at all, beyond replying to her false accusation feedback and reporting her to eBay's buyers' hub. At least I've blocked her from contacting me further, and she's done the worst damage she can do already--and I've got whatever small protections I can manage on buyer restrictions now. It's hard to fathom why eBay makes it hard for sellers, who are the ones giving them money, after all!

It looks from this thread like nothing much has changed since 2012 when the policy changed. Ah well. At least my other buyers have been lovely and most importantly prompt in paying.

No point of these record, there is a option in ebay said ,,a buyer wih more than 2 strikes per week to not see your products''. So, a buyer can have hundreds compains, no point.

Yes, and with that way you do not know how to avoid the bad buyers, they ARE 10% CONSTANT and always will be.

And the ebay policies protects these 10% bad bayers and we pay for that to be tortured from them.

The thing is, people talk like it's "Buyers" VS "Sellers". When 99% of us are both! I sell nowdays and this rule is nonsense. I got boned by a lying buyer (said something was used when I swear on all holy it was not, then refused to communicate and left bad feedback). So, now I have one bad feedback and it looks ugly. All because of a liar. The thing is, it's not me being bias since im a seller. I also buy a lot from ebay! Started as a buyer in fact, as most of us did. And I STILL say the no bad buyer feedback rule is ridiculous. Even before I got boned. This is a good way to lose sellers which makes it worse for the good buyers. The reason they do this is because they can. We have no good viable competitor to Ebay. They are the Wal-Mart of selling used items online. Once a company has the whole market, they do as they please. Never fails. Amazon is putting some hurt on them, but it's not a direct competitor for used items.

What the hell does "a strike" mean against the buyer? The same buyer failed to pay two months in a row and still has 100% positive feedback the third month. How can it be anything BUT positive if you can't leave anything but positive feedback as a seller?
