Anyone get an email from Ebay asking us to get congress not to opt out of the global shipping?

So am I understanding this correctly that if the postal service ops out of its agreement with other countries including China this would be really good for my business?

Ebay's email is acting like this would be awful for my business and hurt international sales.  If my store is anything like everyone elses my international sales are already almost zero since USPS has raised its prices over double in the last 5 years. (For reference about 20-25% of my sales used to be international and I would estimate somewhere between 1-3% is now)

It looks as though opting out of the agreement would seriously hurt China and Ebay, but would seriously benefit USA sellers like myself.

Is this a correct assumption?  The email made it seem as though I should be on the side to keep the crazy low shipping prices from other countries to the USA that directly hurt the United States postal system and hurt my business.

Anyone's input would be great or more clarification on what is happening.

Goodluck with sales all and Happy saturday! 🙂

I hope USPS does opt out of its shipping agreements with China and others, its destroying U.S. sellers. A seller in China can ship anywhere in the U.S. for like $1, while it costs me upwards of $3.50 to $4.00 now to ship a single video game! Those arrangements are a total rip off for the U.S.

I could move to China and ship the same goods for pennies on the dollar.

To make matters worse, USPS revenue is tanking after they raised rates again early this year. USPS reported a recent quarterly loss of $2.3 billion dollars, as they delivered 2.3% fewer packages during the 2nd quarter.

The problem is, the rates are so high its now impossible to ship many consumer products without taking a loss. Its the whole reason we have a warehouse full of pet supplies right now just sitting there collecting dust. A lot of the products we offer would cost more to ship than what any profit would allow.

International sales used to make up a significant amount of my total sales back in 2015, not anymore. I actually stopped offering international shipping on some items because the costs are so high foreign buyers wont buy anything anyway.
