Hey guys,
For the past two days, I have been having some really weird listing errors that do not, from an error standpoint, make any sense. We list thousands of items via our custom software, and we are in hundreds of categories. We have consistently got an error 25002 (The UPC Field Is Missing) in categories that may have potential cleanliness issues such as toys, health and a few others. As the title mentioned, we will receive a UPC error on a "NEW" conditional rating submission but we’ll be successful with a “USED” conditional rating, which again, has zero to do with whether the payload had a UPC value (they NEVER do - I never explicitly put UPCs in the payload to create a fixed price listing, which is what we do). My feeling is that eBay has taken note on the type of inventory we list (liquidation) and has decided to “nerf” our ability to even attempt to sell NEW/NEW (Other) in certain categories.
EDIT: Just happened again... I had this Cat Screen Door that gives the option of "NEW" but will not allow the submission if "NEW" is selected. And again, the error is based around the UPC missing... Go back through, click "USED" and we are live.
