General technical question asking guidelines for better answers

Just some general guidelines for asking technical questions on the internet:

1. What Programming language are you using or targeting if any?

2. What API and what API call are you using or targeting if any?

3. What tools are you using if any? i.e. an eBay SDK, 3rd party app(name), plugin, etc.

(if you don't want to provide the specifics, a general description of what it is helps, i.e. something like "a company provided plugin/tool that is designed to interface with generic rest protocols, and has inputs for these fields, x, y, z, etc")

4. Can you provide a short example of how you can reproduce the behavior you are inquiring about (stripped of any confidential or identifying information, just substitute/rename such things for sake of example).

5. Never post sensitive information, no keys, ids, tokens, names, addresses, etc. Strip this out of whatever you are posting (substitute it with something generic)

Most answers are going come from people who are not paid and have no affiliation with eBay support (as this is a community forum). The knowledge they have is from time spent reading docs and figuring out how things work. Errors are often not very detailed as to what causes them (often due to general infrastructure tools being built on top of tools, on top of tools, etc, and the message is just being passed through - these are developer tools provided without fee, not end user tools, so as with any company, a polished user experience on such things generally isn't a focus since there isn't a direct revenue stream to fund the massive amount of additional work that would require). The more you can show an attempt at trying to figure something out and provide a way of someone else to try to understand what it is you are trying to do and how they can reproduce it, the more likely you will get a successful response.
