I'm working on a project to create an enhanced search engine specifically for clothing items on eBay. The primary goal is to reduce return rates by providing more detailed sizing information to customers before purchase. To achieve this, I need access to bulk data of apparel listings so that I can index it according to garment measurements and other relevant attributes.
My questions are:
- Given that the Bulk Data Exchange (BDX) API has been decommissioned, what is the current recommended method for accessing large volumes of apparel listing data from eBay?
- Is there a specific API or data feed available for apparel categories that includes detailed item specifics such as garment measurements?
- Are there any developer programs or partnerships that eBay offers for projects aimed at improving the shopping experience and reducing return rates?
- If bulk data access is not available, what would be the most efficient way to gather this data using the available APIs while respecting rate limits and terms of service?
Our project aims to benefit both sellers (by potentially reducing return rates) and buyers (by providing more accurate sizing information) while also helping the environment which is our ultimate goal. Any guidance on how to proceed with accessing the necessary data would be greatly appreciated.
