Just a heads up, ebay needs to start REALLY watching the USPS. I know you don't set rates and brag how you negotiate better rates, yet their same as other sites. BUT I just lost half my inventory last month with the outrageous surcharges($30k per year), USPS post today about charging more or less on zone rates in JULY, further away even more shipping. Dejoy did an interview this week about making rates more comparable to FEDEX/UPS, no way could I could sell anything if 1st class jump to $7 for 4 oz package like UPS charges.  If ebay doesn't get ahead of these rates, it will end alot of small businesses. Just  a FYI

I completely agree with you.  But I just take it one step further.  I think the sellers that are clearly taking advantage of this loop hole should be booted.  They are more than willing to steal from buyers.  We don't need or want sellers like that on the site.  I personally see this as a big enough breach of the rules to summarily ban them.

Were I agree: I doubt such will happen:

though for sure a report should be added to all so that if any bad actions are shown they be gone... But hey I aint eBays trust and safety or what ever they call it now days....

Aren't the USPS surcharges for packages of a certain size?  Not likely to affect a 7 oz FC package?

I'm not justifying or condoning what USPS is doing, I'm just asking.

Which department in eBay is responsible for monitoring and improving seller efficiency? How much seller time is spent on eBay related activities unrelated to acquiring inventory, creating listings, and fulfilling orders? Who at eBay is responsible for assessing and understanding the impact of listing tool changes, item specific s requirements, and Managed Payments on seller efficiency?  Has eBay estimated the number of unlisted because items attributable increased time required to list items and choose item specifics or difficult to capture and process Managed Payments reports? How will sellers handle new packaging requirements from countries like Germany? Will every country be different and impose different packaging requirements?

Packaging regulations for sellers on eBay in Germa... - UK eBay Community

Hi @clarkphilatelics! There are a lot of why questions and specifics that I can't go into. I can say that how much time sellers spend on eBay related activities is up to each individual seller. Feedback and suggestions about changes we make are seen by the powers that be. And you can go here to learn more about the German Packaging Act for business sellers. You included a UK chat so that is what I provided above but in case you'd like to see the .com help page, that can be found here

Sorry that is my fault, I should have provided a better explanation.  It use to be the first thing that showed in the left column before having to access the drop down menu.  It said in blue letters right below the date Purchase label.  It does not say that right now.  You have to call up the drop down menu and select Purchase label.  So it is an extra step that wasn't there before about a week ago

Ah, okay, thanks for the detailed follow-up @mam98031. I'll see what I can find out about the change.

Edit to Add (May 12, 2022) - Hey @mam98031! They said thank you for the heads up about it not be the primary option anymore. They're going to investigate what happened and work to get it changed back.
