Hi everyone! Thanks for joining us for the Weekly Chat with eBay Staff. We don't have a specific topic this week, so feel free to share any general buying or selling questions you may have.
The chat thread will remain open until 2 PM PT at which point we'll close it from additional responses. After that time, we'll continue to work on responding to any queries that might still be unanswered.
To post your question, click Reply in the lower right corner of this post, type your question, and hit submit between 1-2 PM Pacific Time. The format of our chat mirrors the format of our Community Discussion Boards, where each post will appear in the thread chronologically. The Community Team will review each question as it comes in, and will quote the original question in our reply. This quote and the reply will appear later in the thread, so just keep scrolling down to see our answers.

Thanks mam, he just backed down and said he'll give it to his friends kid after I wouldn't budge on a return for refund. I reported and blocked him as well.

This was literally 5:06AM this morning. Been trying to get help with an account / 30-day-hold on all payments issue for a week.
They are "working on alleviating this pressure point". 💩 Good luck. My suggestion is trying the wrong department and seeing if they can transfer you, or have a CS agent in the wrong department schedule a call back 24 hours to 3 billion years from now.

@comics-scifi-collectibles wrote:I probably won't be too popular with fellow comic-book sellers with this suggestion but I'd love it if eBay would make it so that media mail labels can not be printed on ebay. Ebay has blocked media mail labels from other categories.
Per the USPS comic books do not qualify for media mail.
Trying to compete against other sellers that break this rule is difficult sometimes.
At least make the seller work for it and have to buy their label offsite if they wish to violate the postal code.
@comics-scifi-collectibles I understand where you're coming from and appreciate the feedback on how these labels are being used. While I can't make any promises, but I can pass along this insight to the right team for review.
brittanie@ebay just to throw out something here - as seller who sells in music - record category - the option to ship Media Mail is NECCISARY - ebay taking the Media Mail option away would be CATASTROPHIC to media sellers - keep that in mind - if people abuse the media mail requirements by shipping items not allowed by media mail guidelines then the option to have Media Mail as a method for that sale should be removed - not the ability to ship Media Mail all together!
I didn't word my post well... I just meant for collectibles> comics
I was not suggesting doing away with media mail entirely. I just want sellers to use it for the items it should be used for.

Please provide an update on when the New Feedback Reply debacle will be corrected and returned to the old format where the reply window retains ALL the pre-typed Feedback we have??? This could have been fixed by simply cancelling the update that caused this problem so wondering what THAT department is doing????
Hi @mr_lincoln - there is no update we have to provide on your request at this point in time. Thanks!

😁 all good, I just wanted to say that so no one thinks to cut the method all together. I understood your point and agree, media mail has guidelines that need to be followed for what can sent media and what can't.

You know, I don't like lying or being deceptive - I am always honest and upfront with my buyers, and honest and upfront with eBay. But yesterday after spending hours trying to get through to someone, I finally lost patience because the account issue has caused my business to grind to a halt - and I did exactly that, requested a call back on something in-the-ballpark-of but not exactly my issue, and after another hour + three different transfers, finally ended up with someone in Trust & Safety finally answering, and the call got disconnected. Had to go out and just take a walk after that.
I'm going to continue to maintain my cool but I swear the universe is just testing me, testing us all.

Good afternoon eBay support team!
Please provide an update on exactly WHEN Sellers will be given access to the list of Members (Buyers and Sellers) who are Following them? This should have been taken care of already so wondering what's going on with it????????
Mr. L
@mr_lincoln - Good afternoon!
While we passed long this feedback, there hasn't been any updates on this nor any commitment that there will be a change to how this feature works going forward.
Thank you brittanie@ebay for the reply ... my frustration is that I and other Sellers are being shielded from information that belongs specifically to US not eBay. We are being Followed because of our own efforts with little to do with eBay so it is quite insulting that they would take this away ... why are they hiding OUR information from US? I know you don't have (or are not permitted to share) their reasons but it is just a mystery as far as I am concerned ... this is NOT directed at you but whoever is making these bad decisions ...

@comics-scifi-collectibles wrote:@nuclearomen A few places where you get the totals paid for shipping
1) For labels you purchase through eBay now that you are in MP
Payments> reports> statements https://www.ebay.com/sh/fin/report/statement
2) For all shipping you purchase can find the info on a transaction report now that you are in MP
Payments> reports> transactions
https://www.ebay.com/sh/fin/report
#3 For any shipping prior to enrolling in managed payments, you can find the report on paypal. Activity download report.
These are all reports that should satisfy the IRS.
Again, every report I have downloaded, or created DOES NOT include purchases for shipping labels - all of them state $0.00 because I offer "free" shipping... been through this with EB CS and MP already. But thanks for the suggestion. Aside, a receipt at time of purchase is to me mail to you, that's all that is needed.
Sorry, I missed that part. I think that the only solution then until eBay gets this fixed would be to use Pirateship.com and pay for the shipping labels through them on a credit card. I am sure that they must have some type of receipt record you could print, their CS is very good if you contact them. It's free to use and integrates with ebay. Just mentioning this in case you weren't aware while you wait for ebay to fix this glitch.

Due to rapid decline in positive results with CS, I've recently made it a habit to ask for SR # on my CS calls. About 1/3 of instances I was not given one. Usually won't give reason, when I do, I am told it gets assigned 'Offline' or by 'Specialist Team'. My gut tells me there is a File 13 involved.
I will keep asking, and if any sellers don't, you ought to start.
(I also keep a notebook for calls / issues. )

When dealing with an enemy I play their game using/following their rules. That is all I have to say for myself. Hopefully eBay can be bothered to help you out in these trying times.

Thank you tyler@ebay ... that's disappointing ...(not in you of course) ... whoever is programming is obviously NOT a user of this or other features, maybe that should be a prerequisite for the programmers?!?

Hello
On another account I recently had an issue and chose to reach out to eBay customer service via email. I sent an email using the "Email Us" button located at the bottom of the appropriate help page describing my problem.
A short time later I received a response from what I had assumed was an eBay customer service employee. The gist of the answer that I received from this person was basically one that consisted of providing me a link to the appropriate help page that they believed applied to my situation. But it was apparent from the text of the email that they had not either completely read my original email or they had no knowledge what so ever of that topic.
This person then signed their email with the title "eBay Concierge Selling Expert"
My question is, is this person an actual eBay customer service employee or is this person just another eBay seller who is apart of this newer coaching service provided by Limitless for eBay; to handle customer service requests?
The details of that program can be found here.

They do, but the reason I use ebay shipping labels is because the cost is directly taken from my pending or processing funds, no need to tap into my funds for it.

Pirate ship does provide a receipt. Not sure if it meets your needs
