What has happened to the "hover to zoom" feature?

What happened to the "hover to zoom" feature? Now all I get is click to enlarge and the image is much smaller that the hover to zoom image. I buy vintage watches and I can't see the details clearly with this click to enlarge feature as well as I could with the hover to zoom.

Apparently there is currently an issue with zoom on touchscreen devices, at least.

we use laptops ..............no hover over .... this will decrease our purchases and sales dramatically

This was an important feature to me . for some reason they have eliminated it . i will be letting sellers now when i wont be buying because i wont buy anything i cant see well . oh well , more money to the credit union .
