When do you start calling something vintage?

On clothing and accessories eg bags, shoes, etc,  will it be safe to say that the item is vintage if it's 20 years old or older?

Something should be 20+ years old before it is referred to as "vintage."  To identify something as "antique," an item should be 100+ years old.

20 years old is considered antique in many circumstances.
Vintage gets misused A LOT.
There are many "vintages" 30's 40's 60"s all are vintages. In today's market depending on the item 10 - 20 years old and older gets tagged as vintage all the time.
