item didn't work ,ebay did not notify me till 4 months after they said item was ok

None of us who reply on these boards is an ebay employee. We are buyers and sellers just like you.

Why you just received a message yesterday about a dispute that was closed back on July 6th, we cannot explain, unless you recently tried to Appeal the original decision.  You had 30 days from being told the original dispute was closed on July 6,  to file an Appeal. After that your Money Back Guarantee protections end.

In looking at the image you posted a link to, did you try prying the key fob open to check the battery? Those things often come with cheap off brand batteries that either leak or lose their power.

It did not work.

You replaced the battery.

You opened a Claim .
(Doesn't really matter which came first.)

The Claim was denied-- probably because in replacing the battery, you significantly changed the item.

You appealed.

In November your appeal was denied.

Again probably replacing the battery was the reason.

Did you open a Not As Described claim?
Did the seller send you a return shipping label?
If they did not, you should have been automatically refunded.

Did you use the RSL to return the item?
If you did not , you automatically lose the Claim.

Note that this is a MONEY Back Guarantee.

If you demanded a replacement, it would also likely have been denied.

they denied because it was beyond the 90 days but I didn't get notified until nov. that was PAST the 90 days
