Transformer Part Identification 1985

Hi,

I have a part marked Bandai 1985 that I can't seem to identify.

Any help would be appreciated.  When opened, this looks like

an old pay phone.  The letter "T" is on one side.

TIA!OpenedOpenedtransformer2.jpgClosedClosed

FWIW, Bandai would have made Go-bots, not Transformers.  Tonka marketed these in the US.   I found a go-bots catalog from 1985 and don't recognize anything that resembles that part so it might not even be from a go-bot.

Anyway, I had a ton of those toys when I was a kid (they were all cheaper than the real Transformer brand) and definitely had a nice trip down memory lane.  Hopefully that'll be a good bump towards finding what you have.

Perhaps the "T" is for telephone?

This looks like part of an old "learning toy" to me..

Here's an old toy for the letter "V"  not exactly the same but similar.
