She's about 17.5" tall with jointed head, shoulders, and hips.
Her head is held onto her neck with a metal hook and rubber band.
I can't find markings anywhere.
Thank you!

Does she have pin jointed hips? If so she might be Mary Lu Walker by Doll Bodies.

Her shoes are interesting. They may have been borrowed from a bride doll of similar size.

She looks very much like a Universal Baby Berry Hard Plastic Walker Doll from the 1950s. But the Baby Berry doll was about 16". Could you have mismeasured her?

You might also try looking up the Horsman Cindy dolls as she reminds me of them. Hope that helps.

Have you tried lifting the hair on the back of its head to see if there's any info under it? Markings can also be on the upper or lower back, soles of the feet, and sometimes under the arms. The doll's clothing may have the Mfr's. name tag.
If you do find Mfr. info on the back of the neck you may want to still check the other places as well. Some doll Mfrs. made the bodies but sourced the heads from another Mfr.
If you do find any Mfr. info you can then try using the link below to find even more particulars. It does help to have an accurate height measurement.

Thanks for your tips. It's so strange -- there are no markings on the body or clothing.
The hair is backed by netting glued to the scalp.
She's so adorable -- I couldn't just let her get thrown away. Imagine what she must have meant to some little girl decades ago. Someone needs to love her again.
Everyone's suggestions here will hopefully help me to describe her.
Thanks again.

I didn't think of this before but if the head is held on by a rubber band if you try carefully lifting it up there may be info on the neck. You can also try using the brand suggestions given earlier and search the doll reference site to see if she matches their offerings.

No, no, no!! If you don't know about dolls please don't make suggestions like this. With an old strung doll even a slight pressure can snap the band, resulting in a doll in six pieces that needs to be restrung.
