U.S. 1922-1925 6cent Garfield

Hi,

I have a 6cent scott 558 11perf Garfield stamp that doesn't record the brown color of this stamp.

It only records the red orange 6cent Garfield. Could this be rare and valuable ?

Thank you for any input.

Hi

Sorry your stamp is not rare or valuable.  Orange stamps can change color sometimes over time, some don't change color to brown as much as others.

That orange color on US stamps is very susceptible to oxidation to a brown color and that is what appears to have happened to your stamp - damaged, not valuable, sorry!  Be careful with buying any orange stamp, especially Scott 287 to about C1, 1896 to 1920 or so.
