Good evening, Everyone, from cold New Jersey. I went to our church's holiday bazaar yesterday morning, then to a huge craftshow at a local high school with youngest son's girlfriend. Today, hubby and I went to a senior citizen's breakfast sponsored by our local politicians - good food.

And vote the Bible?
Does this mean to vote for Romney? Is Romney Christian? No. Does the Bible have anywhere the story of the golden tablets or the wearing of sacred undergarments?
Romney's stance changes like leaves in the wind. He will support abortion and I do believe that in some cases, VERY EARLY abortions are a good thing.
I personally do not care what religion the president practices, as long as he is true to himself and our country.
I did not vote for Obama the first time and I find it hard to believe that I am going to vote for him tomorrow, but Romney is not who he appears. At least we know Obama. Also, for those wanting to keep Medicare & SS somewhat intact, Romney is leaving you out in the cold.
I know this is not the place for a political post, but this was an answer to "Vote the Bible". The one that goes to church every Sunday where they read from the Bible is Obama. The one who goes to tabernacle where the read from The Book of Mormon is Romney.

Perhaps I could have said it better by saying vote for Christian values. Lynn, I hope you're not one of the Christians that the Democrats have been targeting by saying don't vote for Romney because he's a Mormon. While Mormons are not Christians they do have good, moral values.
As for Obama, it is expedient for him to go to church. Given his early indoctrination in a heavily Muslim country and years in a church promoting liberation theology, I do not trust him. Obama is very pro-abortion, approves of same sex marriage and is throwing Israel under the bus. In my Bible these are counter to the Word of God.
During the Democratic convention there was a big fight over putting God and Israel back into their platform. What was telling was that a vocal majority of those wanting to put Israel and God back on the platform was not achieved even after three tries. However, the powers that be did the expedient thing and put God and Israel back into the platform.
Years ago there was a Christian chat room on eBay that I was on for a short time. I was criticized for being too vocal. As I withdrew from the chat room I commented that Christians tend to just kind of hang together and reinforce each other. Prayer groups are wonderful and prayers have power and I've been in several. However, I'm more of a proactive person and believe in putting on the armor of God and moving out of my comfort zone.
I'm very sorry if I stepped on your toes or anyone else in here. I'm working hard to become a more knowledgeable Christian apologist and a watchman on the wall. Studying in the Christian think tank, Koinonia Institute, has been/ is being a great learning experience. So being passive is just not in my makeup.
That said God bless you and I pray for your health

Lynn and Sally, I find it refreshing that you were able to express your ideas without being "called down" for daring to mention the most important event in four years!! We are faced with severe unemployment, withheld information about horrible attacks resulting in the deaths of dedicated Americans, broken promises, religious injustices, excessive spending, Daily verbal attacks on Those who truly love America and want to see Our Blessed Nation regain its rightful place in the world.(Peaceful, Godly, caring citizens who oppose repression and the horrible deaths of innocent people of all countries.) I am for a person who loves our country and one who wants to restore all the injustices now taking place. I responded to Roy and was told this wasn't the place to express it. Where better a place than this to lift up God and put Him on high?? God bless America.
I started to reply to one person's comments but was so confused I couldn't find the right words.

This is an important election. It is also most important to be an informed voter. This does not mean listening to the television commercials, the pre-election photo-ops, etc. It means actually reading and studying what is proposed.
I am not out to change the mind of another as voting is one of our personal freedoms that people have died so we have that choice. Is there a right choice? This is never perfectly clear because of the way our governmental system is laid out. There was a reason that our founding fathers gave us three branches of government. More important even than the presidential choice, is those that represent us in the Senate, the House and at local levels. Campaign promises cannot be counted on to be fulfilled because of this and this should be taken into consideration when voting. At this point in time, our country is in a sorry state and has been for some time, be it under a president of either party. We need help in many areas. For those of us in poor health, we need the assurance that insurance of some kind will be available for pre-existing conditions at a fair price and not being left for the wolves to devour us.
Jan - I know where your family is medically and you know mine. We are both okay now because that system works and with a little tweaking, will continue to work. Can you imagine right now trying to get health coverage without pre-existing conditions being covered? Your daughter is living on the edge, as is one of mine. We need a safety net for a variety of socio-economic groups. As far as being pro-choice or pro-life, this again relly does not make a difference, as those that are going to make the choice of having an abortion are still going to have one. Do we really want to go back to the days of wire coat hangers? Family values do not have a party affilliation.
In the end, what we are, how we behave, how we treat other people is an individual decision. The golden rule applies despite who is actually running the country. We need to take care of each other and we need to be "Our brothers' keeper". When this happens, everything else becomes so much easier.
It is important to vote, for your choice and then, more importantly, when the winner is announced, not be discouraged if not your choice, but to keep that person and family in prayer for wisdom during his term of office.
That finishes my thoughts on the subject. I just wanted to answer that voting for faith does not necessily have a D or an R after it and there is not one, all-inclusive, perfect choice, excepting God, who is really in control.

Continue to pray for the elections.
We each have our opinions on this election -- especially, for President.
We were only given TWO basic choices. Therefore, we must decide between the two persons which person represents our values.
Until Jesus reigns as King on this earth, we will have imperfect leaders. The truth is God raises up the leaders -- because of our sinfulness, He gives us leaders we deserve.
If we want righteous leaders, we must repent of our sins and turn to Jesus as our Lord and Saviour.

Prayers for those in need. Regarding the election, I just got home from voting. While I believe that prayer for the election won't hurt, I will say that I have become so tired of all of the political discussion threads and postings. I have come here for some peace.
BTW, we are under a wind advisory and a winter weather advisory for snow tomorrow into Thursday. I'm supposed to go to a doll club meeting tomorrow night but will wait and see how the weather turns out.

"While the storm clouds gather far across the sea, Let us swear allegiance to a land that's free, Let us all be grateful for a land so fair, As we raise our voices in a solemn prayer. "
God Bless America, Land that I love. Stand beside her, and guide her Thru the night with a light from above. From the mountains, to the prairies, To the oceans, white with foam God bless America, My home sweet home.
