Hi
It is the long lost John. How are you Carole Roxie and everyone else. It has been a long 4 years but the Lord has kept me here. Tammy told me I have had 49 operations I don't remember some of them and have lost parts of my memory. I have spent a year off and on in NeuroICU and have had to learn to walk again.
It has been rough on me but I really think it has been rougher on Tammy and Faith. I may have to go back in the hospital. I had an operation Monday and keep getting a temp of around 100 and since I usually run about 97.5 that is getting high.
Bet anyway enough about me. How is everyone. I am so glad I spent some time trying to find you all. I miss the talks we had. Tammy is good. She is still cancer free and Lord willing she will stay that way
your brother in Christ
the long lost but not lost
John

John - How wonderful to hear that you and Tammy are well. God is working miracles in your life. I cannot imagine having that many surgeries but whatever it takes to make you better is much better than the alternative.
The wedding was wonderful, especially for a spur of the moment event. Melanie made me promise not to post any wedding pictures until she does, but I guess I can post one of myself, so here it is. I have lost a lot of weight but still have about 34 pounds to go. Still a far cry from what I looked when I started.
Her best friend and husband (he is a chef at a fancy resort) brought a ton of really thick NY strip steaks and salads. Bob and the guys came and got our grill. (No, this is NOT a wedding present, and unlike my Kitchen-Aid mixer, this is coming home in the next few days!) Bob, the chef, grilled steaks to perfection for everyone. They also made brats and hot dogs for the kids that wanted those. We were there till 9pm and I was exhausted and came home.
The ceremony was lovely in the gazebo next to the courthouse and the magistrate who performed it was great. Usually these ceremonies are so quick, not this one. The magistrate had a whole sermon on what marriage should be and it was beautiful. Everyone really liked what she had to say. The entire day went just as they wanted it. Melanie went from a four-letter last name to a long Polish name!
We are thankful that my MIL, who is great-grandma to my grandchildren was able to be there. She is now 86. Everyone is staying at Melanie's for the long weekend and she is grilling daily, so I am sure we will be going over to play cards, etc. during this weekend. It rained on and off yesterday (none during the wedding) and they are calling for scattered showers here all weekend which is bad for all the yard sales that are around. Usually I would want to go to them, but I need absolutely nothing so have been staying away.
Have a most beautiful day! ![]()

Faith is my youngest daughter. What is cool the first day of school when the teacher called the last name first then the first. So she gets called Devine Faith. That is so cool
Our first granddaughter is 1 1/2 years younger than Faith so that is cool for them
Thanks your the prayers and good wishes

Hello, everyone. How was everyone's holiday? We spent the time at my inlaws in the Poconos. Went to a fair and a flea market, got in some swimming, and went to a "tricky tray" (also known as a basket auction) where I won a small basket containing two Yankee candles and also won a huge hand decorated Christmas wreath. Went to lunch with my mother inlaw and father inlaw after church on Sunday then to a cookout at my sister in law's on Sunday evening before we came home. Have you ever heard the saying that you should never discuss religion and politics with family? Well, I learned my lesson the hard way at the cookout. Everything was going fine until my husband got into a rather heated political discussion with his family. It got so bad that I tried to get him to quiet down by telling him that he shouldn't be doing it. He responded by basically yelling at me and telling me to shut up in a very nasty manner. He did the same thing to his mother later on. It was very embarrassing and people moved away from him. My sister in law saw how upset I was and apologized to me for getting him started. My niece's husband said to me, "I guess you aren't looking forward to the drive home." This is not the first time he has done this. I think it may be because of his ongoing mental and physical problems, but I am still finding it increasingly hard to deal with. It has gotten so I don't look forward to any family gatherings and am dreading Thanksgiving and Christmas. Hubby would be very upset if he knew I was posting this. Sorry to ramble on, but I needed someone to talk to.
Lynne, congrats on Melanie and Bob's wedding. They look so happy in the pics!
