Pending payment

Hey there.. super new here. I've got a buyer that requested an invoice. Once I realized that and figured it out, I sent the invoice. Still not paid. I went back in my messages, they have requested I contact them through text or personal email for more information on the product. I sent a message through eBay, apologizing for the delay in response, asking how I can help with the information. What other actions do I need to do, for them them pay? Or is it acceptable for me to cancel the order?

scammers pick on new sellers. Ignore the "text me"  "I have a question"  buyers. They want to get you off eBay and send a fake PayPal invoice.   The do not use real phones but VoIP so they cannot be traced.

The buyer received an invoice when the listing/auction was over.  He could have paid then.

They do not need you to contact them outside of eBay.  Any questions should have been asked before they bid or bought.

That request sounds like the beginning of a scam.  They recognize that you're super new.

If they have not paid in 4 days, you can cancel on day #5.  I don't see that you have a legitimate reason to cancel before that.

You really need to read or re-read all the information about selling so that you know how to handle the various odd situations that can come up.

The buyer is a scammer. The exact same thing happened to me when I first started selling. Ignore them and cancel the order after 4 days. Ebay will refund the final value fees to your account. After handling this scam correctly, you'll never have it again. It's like scammers flag you as an experienced seller.

Your advice to the OP was spot on until you said that he'd never have this scam again. 

He is a new seller.  He will have scam attempts to deal with at least until he has some experience and FB.

yep, just happened to me, realized the scam when the supposed payment was sent to my spam account, flagged as a phishing scam, then no paypal confirmation, then googled the supposed phishing payment email, led me here. Be careful people, as they say, only communicate through ebay.
