How to ELIMINATE CLUTTER from your life forever!

Hi everyone. I figured there had to be others out there in the millions of eBayers who want to eliminate clutter. So I decided to create a discussion thread and a "ME" page all about clutter and how to get rid of it and how to keep it out of our lives forever.

Personally I know my clutter problem took years to accumulate, and will take some time and effort to make things "normal" again. But I'm ready to dedicate myself to the effort. I'd like to discuss the tips and strategies necessary not just to eliminate clutter but to become the kind of person who does not ACCUMULATE CLUTTER in the first place! If you are interesting in creating a clutter-free life then let's talk!

I love bulk trash pick-ups! We can schedule one every 6 weeks, if we want to.

One of the cities bordering mine has bulk pick-up every month ~ we lived in one of the communities when we first moved to AZ and it was the first full week of the month ~ very convenient! I got some huge terra cotta pots from one of my neighbors and somebody took just about everything we put out at the curb :^O

You don't get to choose how you are going to die. Or when.
You can only decide how you are going to live. Now.

...still selling away here. YEA!

I also got rid of a few things this week. It especially felt good to throw away a binder full of old letters from 1993. ...Like I'll ever read them again!
Every little bit helps!

Currently I'm reorganizing my grandfather's antique postcards so that they are categorized for easier listing. Boy is it a job. I have thousands. I'm planning on putting up 29 more for sale soon. Right now I'm focusing on Halloween cards, next will be Thanksgiving and Christmas postcards.

Wish me luck!

Thought I was getting the clutter under control.
Ha!
Opened inter-office mail yesterday
to find THREE Nascar event programs.

One from Michigan,
One from Infineon (Calif);
One from New Hampshire.

A note from a former co-worker said "these were
on our floor and before they get thrown away, I
am sending them to YOU because I know you will
enjoy them"
(Actually she is still a company co-worker,
she left our department and is working
in another department on another floor.)
Well, I will enjoy them... but OMG!!!!

Luckily we do have the "Nascar Room" where anything
Nascar DOES get put away...

Made interesting reading on the train ride home last night.

How to ELIMINATE CLUTTER from your life forever!

Hello, all. Great to see that so many people are working at de-cluttering their lives.

This year was one of little progress for me, but I'm renewing my committment to de-clutter. I'll try to stop by the thread more often, I need all the encouragement I can get.

Right now I'm setting some goals for 2009 - to live a healthier life, to earn more money on eBay and elsewhere, strengthen family and friendship relationships, and to completely de-clutter my home. I hope to hear more from like-minded people on this thread in coming weeks. Thanks to all for your posts, and God bless.

Yea! Thanks for your post, and thank you for starting this thread!

Although I don't feel completely de-cluttered, I can say that my hands have touched everything in the house, and I have made a decision to keep what's here. This will be an ongoing process, and I hope I will obtain the clarity and wisdom to see what to let go of. Looking back, I can see that lots of items have been donated and sold the past two years. I hope to pare down more and purchase WiSeLY.

Please visit us here. You are missed, and we want your companionship on this journey.

Blessings!

How to ELIMINATE CLUTTER from your life forever!

Hello! I took two boxes of clothes to the good will last week but still have full closets. I burned lots of empty boxs and papers but have more to go. I need to start on the filing cabinets so I can do taxes and put 2009 papers away but lack the motivation. Maybe next week.----

Happy Decluttered New Year to all!!

Way to go! That was a good chunk of work!

I am putting Christmas decorations away today and also scanning my daughter's keepsake art. The art is a jumbled pile since several items are not just flat pieces of paper. It took several hours, but I finished scanning it yesterday. I am going to look for a couple of letters that I saved from my grandmother, who was delighted at the birth of her first great-grandchild. I want to scan those letters and then upload everything to picaboo or shutterfly to have a photo book made. Then I can release 99.9% of the art and have a nice book to flip through. I don't think I would look at the art unless I was decluttering otherwise.

That's my decluttering update!
Blessings to all!
