Just delayed comment to the locked topic of June,25 2012.

It is certainly a nonsence to define PayPal as accepted method but decline to accept it, even if writing this in words. Seller probably wants to pick 4% fee or something therefor beheaves like that. Or he is afraid to be ripped off... Whatever is the reason he is not allowed to act like that. There is an alternative to PayPal when it is either not available or not accepted by any reason, seller may declare that he accepts Skrill (earlier known as Moneybookers), thre are also much less popular alternative used by big selling companies ProPay, and some also may accept credit card or debit card processed through the seller's Internet merchant account.

Seller acted the way which is prohibited.

But to define buyer's interest against the item, buyer knowing this still could contact seller prior to proceed PayPal...

This way he had real possibility to obtain item, unless seller is a real crook...  Chess player got a head not only for the hat but also to count the moves ahead ... 0:1 😄
