Hi, everyone out there. Some days I spend so much time in front of my computer, I forget that I am not alone. So, I've come back to you..... for help. I opened my ebay store, Scarlett's Treasured Jewelry and completed my about ME page. I have added banners to my auctions and am trying to fill my store more items. I added some Children's jewelry (which I listed in two places with banner )and still No Bids. I have several drop shipper contacts and have carefully reviewed their information & policies before listing their products. So, I have the tools to work with (I think) but maybe I am not using the tools correctly. PLEASE, here are my 3 questions: 1.Would one of you review my listings ? 2.Could someone look at my store ? (I need to add a logo & template for the store) 3. Tell me if getting a trading assistance would help. I know this is a very busy time for sellers, so I hope I am not asking too much. I just am not sure what to do next. TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK. Thanks, Liz

Hi Liz, You have some very lovely items for sale, but you also have some very expensive items and I have a feeling that this is a tough market to be in. And please take all my comments in the spirit they are given as friendly advice only :-) I am no expert in the high end jewelry market. But I think you might have a couple of things working against you. 1st is your feedback rating. I know we all had to start somewhere but as a buyer I would be hesitant to purchase a $1000 ring from someone that only has one 1 feedback left as a seller, and for a small dollar value at that. Then there's the neg. that's sitting on the front page for the world to see. 😞 It really might be worth the $20 to you to go through square trade and get it removed if possible. Oh and I was curious why you would have left a positive in return for someone that left you a neg. I would not have given them any feedback! But then I'm mean LOL!! Maybe since you didn't retaliate the seller would be willing to work with you? Another thing that might be worth your time and effort is to go ahead and do the id verify process. Having the little checkmark next to your id might make potential bidders feel a little more confident in you. I'm not sure if doing the square trade seal is worth it or not. As a buyer I never even pay attention to it. Now I know nothing about working with a trading assistance so I can't give you any advice in that area. But here's something else. If you want to appear as a high end seller you need to bring the look of you auctions, store etc.. up a few notches. Standardize everything, get a logo, template and store design customized for you. There are plenty of sellers on eBay that do this kind of work. Myself included 😉 sorry couldn't help the plug. If you are interested in discussing any of these options I would be more then happy to help you. Feel free to email with questions, or I can email you. One last thought. Please, please be careful when working with a drop shipper for such high dollar items. Make sure , and I know you already said you verified everything, you know who you're working with and they won't let you down when you make a sale. It's your reputation on the line. Ok hope some of that helped a little bit, Julia

Thank you Julia, I had decided before reading this to add less expensive jewelry because of my low # of feedbacks. And you are right, I do need to jazz up things with a logo, template,etc...which I have been looking into. Oh, and about the neg. feedback, I really felt bad about the whole thing. The seller was new and I was one of his problem buyers because I did not know about the money exchange,etc...During the process of emailing each other he moved from one location to another.( still in the same town, I think) That is when he did not get my emails...but through it all he was a very nice person. I just got in over my head when the exchange of money finally was clear to me, the item was too expensive for what it was. I think he had every right to give me a negative, but wish it wasn't there. But I figured I had a lesson to learn and that was to READ CAREFULLY before getting excited over an item and bidding. Today, is one of those day, I now have over 60 items in my store......and NO BIDS! ***ANYONE OUT THERE THAT CAN TELL ME ABOUT A SELLER ASSISTANCE ? ******************************************* Happy Holidays, Julia and hope you sell tons! Liz

I have not tried Seller Assistance but I do know that you are in the hardest area to sell on ebay. It's just hard for people to put out $500 for something they can't Hold in there hands. Its not like other high price items like a $800 dollar pressure washer. You can go to a store and see an item just like it and know exactly what your getting. If you can make it in this area you can sell anywhere on ebay! GOOD LUCK!

Hi Liz! A couple of more thoughts on the jewelry auctions. I looked at a few and as a potential buyer here's what I like to see.... actual dimensions of stones. I know that you list carats, etc but actual dimensions mean more to someone like me who doesn't have a lot of jewelry expertise. Second, more than one photo taken from different angles would be nice. I do purchase jewelry on ebay and the pieces I've purchased have had dimensions and several photographs (most enlarged to show detail). I recommend checking out the competition and see what's working for them then come up with something along those lines that will work for you :) Good luck!
