They do brokerage fees and shipping for items so they flow through Customs faster. Buyer pays extra for shipping and it makes it easier for the seller as he/she only has to ship to Kentucky. The only issue these days is it takes 10-12 days to process items, it use to take 2-3 days.

The main advantage to sellers in using the GSP is that the seller does not have to bother with various paper work like customs declarations, etc. All the seller is required to do is to get the package to the GSP location in Erlanger, KY. Once he does that, he is basically home free. The GSP handles the rest of the process. If a package sent using this program doesn't make it to the buyer, it's not the seller's problem to resolve.

the entire purpose of the program is so soccer moms can tell others that they sell intenational. The effect of the program is higher prices and slower shipping.GSP sellers typically talk abpout form and papers,it is 1 form that takes 30 seconds to fill out,its very simple to do.
shipping directly is where the money is at
keep on selling

Hello,
This information is not fully accurate.
If the item does not arrive to the location AFTER leaving GSP the seller is responsible for refunding the buyer. Even if you win the case on eBay the buyer can open a case on Paypal and will most likely win.
I've sold hundreds of items through GSP and just recently had an item get "lost". Neither eBay or Paypal wanted to take responsibility and now I am out the item and $163.60.

Again : Why on paypal did you not enter the original tracking to show delivered to KY which was the address on file for you to ship to.
Why did you not get a hold of GSP to tell them when this was happening??
Of course you lost.

ebays policy clearly states one of the benefits is that cases for loss or damage during during the international part of the journey will be closed in tbe sellers favor.

Nothing but a cash cow. I will never purchase from U.S.again after paying a ridiculous amount for shipping recently with no tracking for 5 days and sat in Erlanger KY still waiting for item. I have order many times recently from China with $2 speedpak shipping and received items less than 2 weeks. I have learned a valued lesson with ebay.

Again.... I am not sure how many other ways I can rephrase that this was already done.....
The original tracking was entered on the Paypal case and showed it was delivered to KY.
The address on file was KY. The global shipping center is in KY. The address it was shipped to and signed for with signature confirmation was in KY.
A lost package case was opened but then handled by GSP.
Response from eBay below:
Hello B___,
My name is S__, here with eBay's Global Shipping Program (GSP) Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us. I understand that your buyer went through PayPal regarding their shipment for the _____, and you were looking for additional options regarding this.
I understand your frustration and know how important it is to not lose out on both the item and the funds. We honestly try our best to keep our sellers out of this exact position, however PayPal is a banking institution and processes the money movement, which is why we cannot intervene. We have to respect our member's decision to open a PayPal dispute over an eBay case, even if we don't necessarily agree. The best example of this I can give is if they choose to go to their bank to do a charge back, we cannot go to their bank and change that decision.
We know this hasn't gone as anyone had hoped, and we are working on the means to change this process. I wish I had better news, but the best suggestion I can give is for you to try appealing the decision PayPal makes on this dispute, and make sure they know that this order was shipped using our program. I hope this works out B____, and I appreciate all your patience and understanding through this unforeseen situation.
Please enjoy your day.

Of course, the case won through eBay. It was opened and closed immediately in my favor.
I posted the response from eBay above. The buyer can then go through Paypal. Even if you are eligible for seller protection on Paypal the item "must" arrive in order for you to be protected. The seller is responsible if the item gets lost anytime after leaving the US.

But the address that would be on the order details In PayPal would be the Kentucky address so that should be the only place you have to show delivery to

it is a way for ebay and their associates to make money from you
GSP handles the rest is just nonsense and it leads to double charging bad for you

I seriously have no idea. Shipping internationally is very simple.

It allows overseas buyers to purchase items that sellers are reluctant to ship that distance.
I do not ship internationally and the only way a foreign buyer would be able to purchase from me is a re-shipping service like the GSP.
