Hello,
I sold an item packaged and dropped off in the mailbox on Mar 7th, no tracking shows the item in the system so the buyer contacts me where's my item so I looked into it and the estimated delivery date was the 14th which I explain it to him so today is the 14th still not showing up and the buyer said he got his mail already and demanded me to credit his account immediately.
I told the buyer that's not how it's done and there is a process for that so they can get refunded and I can get my final fees back. I told him that I see that he is a seller and hope he doesn't have to deal with things not showing up.
He told me it would never happen to him cause he hands it to the clerk to cover his bases which I told I don't get around to easy. he told me it's not his problem. He lives in a town of 3,600 I live and a big city and the lines are long for me to stand there.
I did have packages not showing tracking before but then they got delivered and I did have another one that didn't get delivered the buyer opened the claim and I refunded him and got my final fees back.
I know eBay's rules change all the time so back to the question at hand. I have no problem refunding him but I also want to get some of the fees back since I'll be out of the item and the cost of shipping.
Thanks for your time.

It sounds like the buyer hasn't filed an INR complaint, so I wouldn't do anything.

I wouldn’t communicate with him further. If and when he opens a case, how you respond depends on the tracking. If it still shows nothing then refund him through the case. If it shows it’s enroute to the buyer then upload the number to the case and then call customer service to ask for an extension to allow more time for the item to be delivered.
