i trying to sell small wireless earbuds do most buyers expect a tracking number in such a small and cheap item i dont want to if i dont have to cuz it costs alot more with tracking

No, tracking is not required. But if your buyer claims that the item was not received, you'll have to refund, whether voluntarily or forced.

what most buyers expect is not something we can not know.Try it and if you get burned you can decide if the savings is worth it.Tracking protects the seller,it is just a convenience for buyers that they are use to

Without tracking the buyer can file an item not received claim against you, and they will win. You will then be out your item and your money. Tracking protects you from buyers who claim they never received the item.
Even with tracking, sometimes in a blue moon the post office will lose the package or forget to scan on delivery. Again you as a seller will lose any case brought on by a buyer for non receipt.
So the decision to consider is if you can afford to lose the item and your money and shipping, if you cannot prove the item was shipped with a tracking number.
