slow shippers

What's the deal?  Has Ebay changed is rules on letting us know when the item is shipped. Lately a lot of the stuff I order is marked as shipped(shipping label created) but doesn't get get shipped for sometimes a week or more.  Can it be changed to reflect when the item actually is in the carriers hands. I know I will never again buy from sellers who drag out the shipping.  Ebay needs to crack down on those who use the system to their advantage. I sometimes wonder if they actually have the item or are odering it elsewhere and waiting for it to arrive to re-ship....frustrating.

In order to protect lazy or deceptive sellers, eBay has made the ship date an absolutely useless term.  Buyers should look only at the Expected Delivery date, and even that's questionable.  If a buyer actually needs something by a given date, eBay is probably not the place to shop.

eBay automatically sends out a ship notice to the buyer when the seller prints the shipping label, so if the seller is foolish or devious enough to purchase postage a week before shipping, the notice is only there to tick everybody off.
