Sold this item, Is this safe to ship.
Hello! I just purchased an item from you & accidentally had it sent to the wrong address. I do not reside at X. In fact, that residence no longer exists due to a house fire this summer. I need to change the shipping to my current address which is, Y. Please let me know if there are any issues. This purchase is actually a gift for my mother who I am staying with until my house can be rebuilt.

Exactly what buyselljack2016 says.
I would let the buyer know that I will be cancelling as "problem with buyer address", and that they would get a full refund of payment, and that I will relist so that they can purchase using the correct shipping address at checkout if the desire to have the item.
Typically i would look at the feedback the buyer has and what the value is of the item. If it looks good i may decide to just adjust the address for the customer but i do realize i dont have any more sellers protection if i do that. Just depends on the deal and customer. Most of the time i will message the customer what buyselljack2016 is quoted.

Could be honest, but you lose all seller protection if you change the ship address.

As an aside: never post anyone's complete address in a public forum for the entire world to see.

Cancel with problem with buyer's address. Then tell the buyer that you will relist the item at 9 pm (or whatever time you decide) and they can re-buy it and they MUST write the correct shipping address when they pay. If they do it wrong again, cancel with the same excuse.
AN honest buyer will do what I stated above. A scammer will NOT re-buy the item. Common sense is that when a house is damaged or destroyed in a fire, the person residing there put in a change of address at the post office. Also , the post office will hold the mail and the person can pick it up. Do NOT ship. You will lose your seller protection.

Advise the buyer you can cancel their payment and they can repay after they enter the correct address. Explain once they click pay, no addresses changes can be made from the seller's end. See how they want to handle it. Sounds fishy due to their long message. Was the item expensive?

I am leaning towards buyer lying. The post office in that zipcode will hold the mail for a few days incases where the house has burnt or he/she could have set up a forwarding address. Cancel and re-buy with the correct address.

Do be certain that the message is actually from the buyer. You don't want to cancel if the message is from a scammer and not the buyer.

No, only ship it to address as stated. You can look it up at google and see what the address actually is or was also.

I would tell the buyer that the order will be cancelled due to address issue & that the item will be relisted again on ebay. Then, they can place a new order & enter the correct address. That keeps your ebay seller protection.
Good luck!

its not safe to ship at all
you woud be shipping to a story told thru ebay messages
ebay messages do not change the MBG in any way
in fact ebay messages from a seller have no bearing at all as far as the payment address is concerned
you buyer needs to get with the program and do things the correct way
good luck
