I'm not sure how to correctly set up international shipping options. Should I use eBay’s International Shipping program or handle shipping manually? What works best for small items

Re: shipping

If you qualify for Ebay's international shipping program, use that.   Do know, that ebay's standard international shipping is not the same thing as being enrolled in EIS

Re: shipping

Use eBay's International Shipping program. Shipping internationally directly comes with tons of pitfalls and perils (false INRs since most shipments don't have tracking the seller will always lose their item, their money AND the cost of foreign postage, items can be lost (or stolen) in customs, lost by the foreign post office etc.) And if a foreign buyer files a INAD, you get socked with return postage to get the item back (and foreign postage nowadays is very, very expensive, even for the smallest packages.) EIS protects you from all of that. They also handle nonsense like Germany's packaging rules/registration requirement for you.

Shipping internationally directly is not recommended for new/beginner sellers for those reasons. I have been selling for decades and use EIS exclusively; I won't ship directly internationally again, it is just not worth the risks.
