shipping

I live in fl. Some one in Ca. Buys an item at one am eastern time. why do i have to ship it that  day. I have one day shipping not someday shipping it should. Shipping Should be from time should count from were the seller is not the buyer. Now we get marked late because we don't get it out the someday it was purchased in our time Zone

Re: shipping

Ebay runs on Pacific time, it always has.   Since you are ET, there is a three hour window between midnight and 0300 that for you would require shipping that morning.  I'm CT and have one day shipping, so I have a two hour window.

If a buyer buys something at 0100 my time Tuesday, that's 2300 (11 PM) PT Monday.  I have until midnight PT Tuesday to ship, so I would need to ship that next morning or afternoon (or any time before midnight PT, or 2200 my time).

Re: shipping

What is the big difference from the buyer purchasing at 1am your time or  earliier at 9:30pm?  If it was 9:30pm, that makes a difference in being able to ship on time?

Re: shipping

The op is absolutely right. East coast sellers with 1 day handling are being forced into same day shipping due to this brain dead policy. It is for this reason that I ditched my TRS discount and put 3 day handling on all of my items.

Re: shipping

I would recommend increasing your handling time to 2 or 3 days. That will give you a little bit of a shipping buffer in case you're pressed for time or if the order comes in at an odd hour. Another option would be to wake up just a bit earlier in the morning to take care of those odd-hour shopping orders.

Re: shipping

If I were you, I'd find something more important to worry about than getting "marked late" by eBay every now and then.  Just tell them you don't feel tardy.

Re: shipping

1 day shipping benefits are not enough for me to have the stress associated with it.  I gave it up when I was "working" 6 days a week, and continue not to use 1 day because of the time zone difference/health/weather/internet outages/appointments.  a %age of a %age is not worth the stress.
