As for cost effective, it depends on weight, dimensions, and destination.  But, typically, USPS Priority Mail is the most cost effective.

As for safe, shipping isn't really your highest risk, and there isn't much you can do post-sale to financially protect yourself ... but, when shipping, eBay requires that you have signature confirmation if the item sells for over $750.

You are brave.  Best of luck.

They can break at the stem so wrap individually with bubble wrap.

I've sold many sets of wine glasses and champagne flutes without any damage to them. I use a large cardboard box, wrap each glassware individually with plenty of bubble wrap, emphasizing the stem area. Then I wrap them with hard butcher type paper. Then I stuff the box with newspaper to absorb rough handling. Make sure none of the glasses are next to each other as they will break if so. Stuff that box full of extra newspaper.

I ship either parcel select or priority depending on the final price. Sometimes priority "looks" like it will cost less but eBay then charges additional for priority so you end up paying more. Parcel select does not incur the extra shipping costs from eBay so you end up fairing better, but it takes longer to arrive. Just pointing out different options for you. Best of luck to you.

Wrap each first with tissue paper, then bubble wrap and box. USPS will probably be the most cost effective

OP used the words "silver goblets" so I assumed that these were NOT glassware.

And when I look at the picture in the listing, these appear to be indeed silver goblets, not glassware.

There are no hidden costs with Priority Mail, and the price is nearly the same as Parcel Select.  Priority Mail includes some insurance, free boxes, and faster delivery to the customer.

The only reasons to use Parcel Select is if you are shipping hazardous materials, or your box size is larger than what is allowed for Priority Mail.

Yes, there aren't one piece the cup is a separate part than the stem.  I've broken a couple polishing them, that's how I know.
