shipped my first package and ups had broken several items in  the box opened it and re taped it now i can't seem to talk to anyone at ebay or ups about what i should do.

This is what you can do …..When your buyer opens an item not described case accept it, issue a return label. Receive the item back and refund. Or refund your buyer allowing them to keep the broken item.

You are responsible for safe delivery.

You must refund your buyer whether they return the item or not.

You have either $100 or any extra insurance you have paid for which UPS might pay for if your packaging was adequate.

You will need to have the buyer return the order to you or maintain the packaging and items until UPS handles your claim.

Ask the buyer for a few pictures of the item and package, then refund the buyer.
Have the buyer hang on to the item and package so it can be inspected.
You file a claim with the carrier.
