When the item is sold, the buyer will see the shipping options and cost choice(s). They pick the one that they want and make payment. Not fully understanding why you would need to invoice anyone, the shipping information would be in the listing, and will be shown to the buyer.
The basket, you should show shipping cost and maybe some of the kids books could be shipped in medium flat rate box or media rate?

This is for the Vera Bradley case? The shipping price within the US states is 'not specified' which is unusual.
In this case you could confirm that the buyer's zip is the same as the one you are currently seeing, figure out the cost yourself and put in a flat rate on the invoice.

This error happens when the shipping calculator is trying to use impossible terms, such as a weight over 16 ounces for First Class, or dimensions with a length-plus-girth over 108 inches for Priority Mail. Perhaps you made a typing error when entering package dimensions. Click on "Sell similar" to bring up a duplicate of the listing so you can check what was entered.
You can send the buyer an invoice with the appropriate actual shipping cost. If you know the buyer's ZIP Code, you can use the eBay shipping calculator.

Something happened when the OP set up a shipping cost because the item that just sold didn't specify a shipping cost. Shipping won't be automatically calculated after the EOA. The seller will have to figure what they want for shipping and amend the invoice to include the shipping cost.
