shipping calculator vs creating label

I used the eBay shipping calculator to calculate cost of shipping item from US to UK.  I found an acceptable price using UPS worldwide expedited. passed that info to potential buyer who wanted to proceed with sale. offer sent based on shipping price as provided by calculator. item purchased. sent invoice to buyer based on item cost plus shipping price as provided by shipping calculator. once sale was made and i went to print shipping label, no UPS options were available- only USPS and eBay international standard shipping were offered. eBay shipping was reasonable but more than original calculated UPS cost. why am i not able to ship using the UPS service that i saw when i used the calculator?

ebay labels shows you the carrier that you were showing in the listing so if your listing didn't show UPS, the label won't either. I don't use ebay labels in the US but I am guessing that there is a drop down menu on the label page that gives you the option to use another carrier.

You Listing would of had to have UPS as an option.

You can take the package to a Local Shipper who does UPS.  Do you have a Staples near by.  They are always offering 20% for UPS Shipping.

Another thing you could do is to relist the item and make sure you have UPS selected.  Have buyer repurchase and the cancel the other order.

that may be true but that is not the case other times when i print a label. i'm printing a label right now. the choices given on my listing are USPS media mail and local pick-up. when i go to print the label i have multiple options available thru USPS, UPS and Fed Ex and eBay. i have four tabs to click on for the carrier i want to use.  i was not expecting that the same thing would not be true when trying to ship internationally. i do not offer international shipping but don't refuse if there is a buyer that wants to work out the ugly shipping charges. i went ahead and shipped using ebay international but am still confused as to why there were no other options than USPS.

UPS is not listed as an option on any of my listings but it always comes up as a choice when i go to print a label for something i'm shipping domestically. i ship mostly books so USPS media mail is the only listed choice but i always see tabs for using other USPS services, UPS, Fed Ex and eBay services when i create my labels. still confused that other options did not appear for international shipping.
