Hi,
I am a low-volume seller and frequent buyer on Ebay and need your advice on a problem that I may have created.
I had a purchase return and a sold item all done up with labels, etc. The post office was closed at the time that I went to mail these items; this was Saturday afternoon. A woman was also outside of the PO with me. She said that she 'worked at the post office and would put these items in the mailbox for me'. She was let in to the PO by another person, so I thought everything was ok.
But I have been checking the tracking for both of these items nnd the status of both has not been updated since Friday night. It is now Monday afternoon. Quetions:
- How often is the tracking status updated during the day?
- If there are no updates since Friday night (when I printed the labels), is it safe to save that she did not drop them in the box for delivery, or is the tracking status updated later in the day?
- There is a blizzard all up and down the East Coast, although my hometown, Boston, is not being hit that bad. Would bad weather also affect the Tracking Status updates?
I realize now that I should not have accepted her office to drop them in the box to be shipped. My bad; won't do that again.
Any insights besides scolding me for such a bad move would be appreciated.

If the PO was closed, they might not get scanned for a couple days, depending on how busy your PO is.

Its typical delayed scans and tracking. There are nice people in the world including postal workers and I truly believe all is good. Post office let her in so I highly doubt it was a theft ringleader letting others in. Or something else that a mind thought up.
You're a good person and see good in others. Nothing wrong with that and don't start believing in fear based thoughts. Keep them positive as its all good.
Give it a day or 2.

I should of answered your questions. Tracking updates generally 1x a day at 1st then might go a few days before it gets another scan at the state it's being delivered in. That was generally the case but nowadays it can be all over the place. No scans for days, in Dec it was for weeks at a time.
There is no set time. Yes, bad weather causes delays (it doesn't have to be right where you are) which then would delay scans. Good chance for a scan tonight or Tuesday so dont worry.
