I am just wondering how you like shipCover. I'm trying to decide if it is beneficial to use it. Thank you.

What type of seller buys insurance?

We generally insure stuff sold over $100.

As for how we like/dislike ShipCover - unless it's the only option, we don't use it.  USPS insurance has always worked fine for us, no fuss and reliable.  Claims can be done online and tracked.  Usually less expensive, too.

Sounds like you are wasting a lot of money.

I agree with Sam ... adding insurance is typically a waste of money.

Maybe - but when an $1800 item arrives at the buyer's business/house with obvious damage in transit -OR- doesn't show up at all, the insurance definitely pays for itself!

Otherwise, we let Priority Mail do the insuring for us (so to speak).

I ship packages worth $1,000 to $3,000 without insurance every day.

In the thousands of packages that we've sent, we've never had one lost ... I realize it happens, just never a single loss (we have had 3-4 instances of a buyer claiming that the package never arrived due to porch pirates or misdeliveries, however).

As for damage, only one "insurance-eligible" package was ever damaged.  We've had several packages with internal contents broken, but there isn't a claim eligible for those because the damage was due to G-forces.
