Re: buyer has sent a question about item #133538821982, that ended on Oct-17-20 04:41:37 PDT - Remington Miracle Tab Quiet-Riter Eleven Portable Manual Typewriter/case vtg!!

I sold an old typewriter to the eBay buyer who collects them and was calling herself as an expert. On my listing was that sell is "as is, no returns, I asked buyers to ask me all questions before purchasing, I was offering more pictures if needed. Buyer did not ask me for any information or more pictures and knew, that item was not in use for a long time, needs cleaning and  is sold as-is. Buyer came from Philadelphia to pick up the item from my home in NJ, at 08107. Buyer requested from me to take the typewriter outside on my front porch to exam it. I made a printing test for a buyer to show that all keys work well, below printed date of my test and a the end buyer just heat a few times a few keys and stated to me that all looks ok, she did not see any problems with this typewriter. After such exam,  I usually ask buyers to sign a document that my item was delivered to a buyer, is as described and all works. She wanted to send me confirmation of her pick up over eBay but I asked her to sing my document first, so she did it, but was visibly upset.  Next day I received an email from buyer, first she was expressing that she is happy to get my item, was asking me for other possible  typewriters to buy from me and later she started to write complains , that the typewriter has missing some small thing, but she can take it, she told me that the typewriter skips occasionally letters, she took this  typewriter to somebody and it may be cost-full repair. At the end she told me that condition of the case is different from my pictures and she asked eBay to be able to return the item to me because  is not as described.  I was shocked to hear this, because I sold her working item as described on eBay, she signed my legal document for this reason. Buyer as an expert had possibility to check everything when she  was at my home. She was able to see the case and everything else and could tell me that she does not want any more this typewriter and I could accept it in that tme. Since she took it from my hands I do not know what she did or what happened to it later. I filled a case against this buyer, since she did not proof anything to me, she signed my document were she stated that all is ok with this typewriter.  eBay ignored all my documents and wants me to accept buyers return with possible damaged typewriter. I was unfairly treated and humiliated by eBay and dishonest buyer. I just cannot understand why eBay wants to force me to accept unjustified return. I am in my 70's and cannot just take this kind of abuse from eBy and buyer who was falsly claiming her case. Please let me know what is your opinion about my case?

Welcome to eBay justice... 😞
What way does eBay want you to accept buyers' return? The eBay "Item not described" cases usually are accepted automatically without any seller's wants and opinions.

Your buyer is obviously trying to scam you. If you still can, not to agree for any return or refund.

For local pick up only items you're better off using Facebook Markeplace. I sell many computers on Facebook MP. I've never had an issue. Best part is no fees or forced returns...Craigslist is also another option.

Any time you offer "local pickup", payment should be cash only at time of pickup, no Paypal.    That way, the buyer can inspect the item at the time of pickup and no chargebacks can pop up later.

Also, looks like you have quite a few items that are local pickup.  Apparently you have not had a problem but it really isn't a good idea to let people come to your home to pick up things.   It's better to meet the buyer in a public place such as a store parking lot to exchange the item for cash.   Too many weirdos out there.

Because the buyer is protected under the MBG and they claim the item wasn't as described.

Buyer doesn't have to prove anything when they file an INAD.

Have a great day.

Recently I got a return a Atmos Lecoultre (Gruen) clock.
The item condition is described as: Not function properly, it work for only couple hours, service required, price is 50% off compared to normal sold price, offered As-Is, No Return due to Exotic, fragile of item nature.
The buyer is Atmos LeCoultre clock Part Seller.
Returned clock is totally DEAD, there are signs of the movement mechanism opened, I have solid evident to proved. Thats make me to come to the conclusion...this guy did swap major parts from my clock and will put on to his selling list later.
I hope Ebay's specialist may spend some time to look in to this issues to investigated. Like many seller, I'm very nervous, tried to avoid selling valuable item on Ebay. Gambling to sell cheap stuff is ok.
btw, I have took pictured of Return Abuse on hand if Ebay needed.
