I recently purchase a item that didn't work after install, but I bought it not under my account, how do I contact seller or return such item, this item is not in my purchase history nor will the web site let me continue without bringing up my purchase history.

You need to return it using the account you used to buy it. If you bought it as a guest, you received an email telling you what to do if you need to return the item.

What is the reason it was not purchased under your own account?
If it was bought with another eBay user's account you'll have to go through that account, they have to submit the return request, send the item back and the refund goes to them.
