Ebay buyer open return request 55 days after item delivered. Is it mandatory to accept or not?

Return time for item only 14 day.

If eBay is giving you the option to reject the return, then you can do it without repercussions from eBay.

Have optional refused button , but I fear then ebay refund money to buyer without my accept.

This is motorcycle crankshaft, buyer tryed install in kitchen with hammer.
Now want return item.

Refuse the return.

The buyer can still request a return on PayPal but you can still refuse and force the buyer have PayPal decide. If the buyer wins the case on PayPal the buyer will be responsible for return shipping.

ebay customer support answer my question:

you only stated 14 days on your returns policy, the buyer can still open return request especially that they received a defective item.

Not have limit, unnecessary give return time 14 or 60 day, buyer return request on Ebay even 180 day.

Not a word about this is, under Ebay seller protection.
