I buyer requested a return on a laptop because the webcam did not work. I accepted. I had never used the webcam so was unaware that it didn't work. My bad. Return accepted and paid for the return shipping.
I receive it today. I see the packaging and am like this guy has to be kidding me. Sends it back in a barely padded jiffy envelope. I open it up and just like I thought it would be, the screen is cracked all over.
All he had to do was send it back in the same box I had shipped it out to him in.
What are my options here? I'm not feeling inclined to give a full refund, if any, now.

I went ahead and opened up a dispute for not receiving the item back in the same condition.
What are my chances of winning this?
I sent the pictures of the cracked screen.

Is it in fact even your own laptop, the one you shipped to him? Does the serial number match?

Make sure you also get pictures of the packing/how it was shipped back to you.
Good luck!

If buyer filed an INAD, probably none.

Now that you’ve made the report, call EBay and have CS pull up your reports and pic.
i had a customer do a sloppy return that damaged the item last year. They gave me a courtesy refund.

I filed a damaged item claim with USPS.
Uploaded pics of the damaged laptop and a screen shot of the completed sale to show value.
What are the chances I get anything out of it?
