Cash refund?  Sounds like a scam attempt.  I assume they haven't gone through any official channels (i.e. opened a case, etc.)

The buyer has thirty days from their receipt of the item to file a claim with eBay. Do not issue any refund unless you get official notice from eBay that a case has been files. Then follow instructions to the letter. Go here for more information:

Wait until they file a case with ebay.  Have they said why they want a refund?
