Buyer sent back a return but just got a slip for USPS saying $10 postage is due? Return was opened using ebay returns page. I dont have a store subscription, can I tell the buyer I'll refund less the postage due? Im very confused.

Did your buyer use the label eBay provided when you approved the Return request? I'm a little confused, too... 🤔

I had the exact same thing happen to me today as well. Just got a return delivered about an hour ago and the USPS literally wrote the words ‘postage due’ on the box itself. Never had this happen before. Someone Please advise what to do if this has happened to you

@sports_yugioh_and_pokemon_cards @kskyler You and your buyers need to go to the PO and point to the upper right of the return label that says "NO POSTAGE REQUIRED" and the part that says "RETURN SERVICE". There shouldn't be postage due on an eBay generated return service label. The USPS and eBay work that stuff out amongst themselves with their contracted deal.

My returns are automatically authorized for approval. I see all the updates on the return page. I assumed the buyer used ebay to generate the label

Thanks, I will go to the post office to see if they will show me the package

This is what the top of the label will look like. See how it says no postage necessary in the upper right? And below that it specifies return service.

The weird thing is that I didn’t get a slip, they actually delivered the box to me so maybe I don’t need to do anything. The other problem is that eBay hasn’t updated the return case to say that it was delivered despite the fact that the tracking shows it as delivered and I have the package. Also I’m not sure if I should open it up yet cause I’ve never been in a unique situation like this before

If they delivered without a slip then I'd say you dont need to pay the postage

Did your buyer buy their own shipping label for the return @sports_yugioh_and_pokemon_cards or was it
- a "RETURN SERVICE" label
- with "NO POSTAGE NECESSARY" but
- with "POSTAGE DUE" and written on the label like this:

If it's an eBay return label and the buyer saved the tracking number, eBay will force a refund if the buyer contacts eBay with the tracking number ... even though eBay is neither showing that it ever shipped nor has already been delivered back to you.

UPDATE-Buyer used the first class label but sent the item in a priority mail box.

The return labels are supposed to be good for first class or priority.
