packaged marked as "RETURN TO SENDER PROCESSED"

I have a question about what to do in this situation. I bought something that was marked as "Return to sender processed" due to having an "Insufficient address." I checked the zip code and noticed that it was sent to a different area, 92119, instead of 92154. I asked the seller and according to them they entered my address correctly but from what I can see there might have been an error either from them or from the USPS. Will the tracking update again? Because if it doesn't then there is no way to know if the seller received it. I still want the item but what makes me anxious is not knowing what ever happened to the package as it has been a week since the tracking last updated.

Maybe. When the return to sender is processed, an encoded yellow label to route the package back is pasted over the recipient's address, so that the only address visible is the sender's address. So the barcode still tracks the package until it is delivered back to the sender.

But sometimes a few bars on the barcode across its height are completely covered, so tracking is no longer possible. (When that happened to me as the sender, I peeled up the yellow label and reapplied it to expose the barcode, then redeposited the package in a blue box to force that final Delivered scan.)

So yes, your seller might receive the package back without any further tracking.

Unfortunately this is common for it to take a week or more to update. There's also the chance it doesn't update when delivered as that happened to one of my packages recently.

USPS is not doing too well with some packages and tracking. Give it at least a few more days and you might see some activity or possibly still the seller or you receive it.
