only label option is priority or first class?

where are the options for economy ,parcel select etc? i drop down the menu for labels its all priority  or first class,even though i dont offer that as an option i offer economy so i can choose whats best when i ship the package, when i click on buyer selected priority, it says this option was the closest for what i offered? bull !! i should be able to print the label i need to not forced to ship priority, its like this in pay pal also..its been like this forever

You offered Standard First Class shipping.  You can't downgrade the method to Economy Parcel Select as that is a slower method. You can only ship the method offered or you may upgrade the shipping to Priority.  Finally, eBay gets something right if they're stopping you from downgrading from Standard to Economy.

OP said, "i offer economy so i can choose whats best when i ship the package". I can't figure out why they don't choose the service when setting up the listing; surely they might lose some potential buyers who don't want cheap slow ("economy") shipping.

no its when i offer economy shipping,,or parcel select,not first class, ,i dont know how much what im shipping will weigh until i box it up, especially if people combine shipping on items,.i need the option to ship how i need to,if i offer parcel selct or economy or ground it always reverts to priority mail,all the options on the drop down menu are priority or first class which makes zero sense since i cant even ship first class if im shipping something over a pound.and even if i offer first class if someone wants to combine shipping on multiple items the box will be more than a pound and again, i can ship first class then.

You need to know what the weight of the packaged item is when you create the listing in order for the buyer to know what it will cost them.  When I create my listings, I place the box I will be using along with the item to get the weight.  Then I will most likely add 4 to 8 ounces depending on whether I plan to use bubble wrap or syrofoam pellets in the package.

I also offer a discount for combined shipping, so my RULE in my Shipping preferences is to ADD THE WEIGHTS.  That usually works pretty well unless one item ships first class package and another ships priority.  ebay doesn't do that very well, but I haven;t lost too much that way.
