Did you mean:

oh, this is sore!

2 weeks ago shipped out 2 items with UPS

1 box went OH-MN- $9.37

Another one went OH-TX-$18 and some change

So today I see actual charges to my account- $22.12 (to MN) and $31.19 (to TX)

Yes, I am aware of dimensions (have done this mistake with USPS in the past, paid arm and leg later). So ever since I am VERY accurate with dimensions and weight.

Is this UPS stirring something up or eBay calculators are way off?

I usually use USPS, so never had a need of having UPS account. Are there similar issues with overcharges when you have your own UPS account?

Re: oh, this is sore!

It would help if you give us details.

Actual weight and sizes you entered. And the from and to ZIP codes.

Unlike the USPS that considers any box up to one cubic foot to be the same price, UPS (and FedEx) gave different prices even on small boxes.

For example a 2 pound box that measures 6x6x6 is cheaper than a 2 pound box that measure 8x8x8, and 12x12x12 is even more - even though all weight the same and are not over one cubic foot. With USPS that size difference would still be the same price. With UPS and FedEx it is not.

Re: oh, this is sore!

3" x 7" x25" (3 lbs)  from 44849 to 55419- ebay calculated $9.37 (UPS® Ground, Buying on eBay you saved $3.20)----- actual account charge $22.12

and

11" x14" x17" (4lbs) from 44849 to 78730- ebay calculated $18.44 (UPS® Ground, Buying on eBay you saved $14.56)------ actual account charge $31.19

Re: oh, this is sore!

Well, I do get the same 9 and 18 prices as you using Pirateship. BUT the 22 and the 31 are what I get for 2nd day air. Are you sure you clicked the right button? Because if you did then, yes, it does look like you were screwed. Not sure how to fix that.

But first - be sure you clicked ground. The list eBay offers includes several UPS services and, in a rush, it easy to click the wrong one.

Nor saying you did - just that it looks like that is what happened.

Re: oh, this is sore!

I know the post office has a web site that you can protest wrong charges (as when they back charge you through the APV). It wouldn't hurt to investigate the UPS site to see of they also have one. It does look like you were overcharged.
