not delivered

I purchased a paperback book on Ebay from a seller that I should have read the negative reviews a little closer. The book was supposedly shipped by ECONOMY mail (which has no tracking) on the day  my credit card was charged. The expected delivery time stretched out to 2 weeks. It is now over three weeks and no delivery.

Somehow, Ebay is insistent that I filed a dispute with my credit card which I did NOT and the card says that there is none.  I suspect that the SELLER has hit on a way (By filing a false dispute, that Ebay recognizes) to avoid returning my money. The "Kicker" is that they have to wait for the Credit  card bank to make a decision.

Has this false dispute trick happened to someone else?  I am a 20 year customer with 100% rating and this leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

At this point I would file a "item not received " claim with eBay  today  if last estimated delivery date has past

You are under your 30 days correct?

Seller appears to be stinging you along

I would think there would be a tracking number.   Economy doesn't rule that out unless they used stamps.   I don't understand why ebay would claim you filed a charge back.   Do you get some weird error if you try to open an item not received claim?

What Economy method was promised? You cannot mail a package by USPS without getting a tracking number although if the seller bought the postage over the counter they would have had to upload the tracking number off their receipt when they got home. If they uploaded a tracking number you would be able to see it in your Purchase history.

If the seller used Media mail then theres no telling when the package is going to arrive. But if its past the last Estimated date of delivery you can file an Item not received dispute to get your money refunded.
