Did you mean:

no refund?

Ebay sent me the wrong item. The same day I informed them I wanted to return it. They replied: no refund for this item. It was their mistake to send me a different item. What am I supposed to do now?

Re: no refund?

Hi @juliak38757, If eBay closed it and you didn't pay with PayPal, the only thing left is to try for a chargeback with your credit card company.  If you want to go to that hassle.  Call the number on the back of the card and ask what their chargeback procedure is.  Then take that credit card and open a PayPal account.  If you had paid through PayPal, this problem would be over.

Although it still seems like some information is missing here.  You are doling it out as the responders ask you questions and bring up inconsistencies in the narrative.  But taking what you've said so far at face value, your credit card company is now your only hope.  Or list the wrong items on eBay and sell them to recoup your money.  Good luck!

Re: no refund?

Hi again, Apparently they did not send the wrong item.  You already left feedback and the feedback you left was for body spray.

The item gallery title: "6 Power Stick XJ INTENSITY Body Spray For Men FREE SHIPPING!!!!!!!!!!"

The item description: "6 Power Stick XJ INTENSITY Body Spray For Men.............................. FREE SHIPPING!!!!!!!!!!"

The name of the brand is apparently BodyStick, but the item is clearly Body Spray.  Sorry, but that's why you lost the return case.  You received what you ordered.

If you had told us that going in, it would have saved a lot of confusion.  You can re-sell it yourself if you don't like it.  Again, good luck!

Re: no refund?

@juliak38757  --  If you opened a case for Not As Described, and gave as the reason that the seller sent body spray instead of deodorant, then that's why eBay told you that the item wasn't eligible for return.  Because the listing is not for deodorant, the listing is for Body Spray.

Re: no refund?

EBay doesn't send anything, independent sellers ship items. EBay does not have ANY inventory. If you think you received the wrong item (or it doesn't match the description), simply open a SNAD (not as described) case on eBay. You only have 30 days from the delivery date, so I suggest you do it quick. Once that is open the seller can either refund 100% and let you keep the item, send a pre-paid return shipping label and refund you after they receive it back or offer you a partial refund (which you do not have to accept).

THAT rarely has any effect on a SNAD case. Typically the buyer would win anyway. Something else is wrong here. Either the buyer didn't open a SNAD case, didn't return the item in the timeframe alloted or something else (like the OP is banned from making MBG claims).

Thank you for your reply. But it was Ebay but not the seller who sent me an email. It says: We're sorry you had a problem with your purchase. However, this item isn't covered by the ebay money back guarantee. We are not able to give you a refund. I wrote to the seller and then to ebay.

But what you said is "Ebay sent me the wrong item." I was clarifying that ebay did not send you the wrong item. Regardless, there's more to this story than what you're telling since ebay rarely finds in favor of the seller.

Did you by chance open an item not received case with ebay?

Buyers manage to lose SNAD claims all the time.  One way would be to state the seller sent body spray instead of stick when the item purchased was body spray.

Edited to quote your post, since you apparently like it when responders do that to one another.  Good luck!

Just to clarify, I already tried the "body spray" and that seems to be all the CVS etc carry now days. I bought this "deodorant body spray" when we were in Bahamas and my wife really likes the smell, but I can find it in the stores. That's why I went online to buy it. But the seller sent the same thing I can buy at CVS, which does not help with BO at all. Now I have 6 cans of worthless junk. The items in the listing photo and description are exactly what I want, but didn't recieve.

(I'm the OP's husband)

So after the allotted time passes we should open a case with Ebay? I saw the email, and it was from Ebay and not from the seller. I assumed Ebay already closed the case, which was weird because this all happened only a few days ago and the date Ebay gave us to open a case was later in November IIRC.

Re: no refund?

Hi OP Husband,  Thank you for the clarification.  If the photo in the listing was of something other than what you received, you can appeal eBay's decision against you and provide that information.  The photographs are part of the item description and must be accurate.

You have already filed a case with eBay and did not win.  Probably because the issue was not adequately described.  If all that was said was we received body spray, and the listing was for body spray, you can see how it would be difficult to find in your favor.  If the information about the photos being inaccurate had been provided to eBay in the initial dispute, the outcome should have been different.  The seller should have been instructed to issue you a pre-paid return label with tracking, and upon tracking confirming that it had been delivered back to them, a full refund would have issued.

So try, try again.  Try an appeal, and this time tell eBay about the photos and that the item you received was not the item pictured.   The written description in the listing is one line, so the photos should pull things in your favor.

And I still strongly advise you open a PayPal account which adds another layer of protection when buying anywhere on line, particularly eBay.  PayPal is free to buyers.  Good luck!

Re: no refund?

It looks like you ordered body spray and you received body spray. Even with admitting that, I'm surprised you lost your SNAD case, but that is what you ordered. You only other choice would be to open a SNAD in PayPal (you will have to pay return shipping) and follow their rules. Good Luck

BTW, iPhone, right?

Re: no refund?

If you ordered Deodorant body spray, but received other than what was represented in the listing,  you can appeal.  You likely did not win in the first place because you did not completely explain why the item was not as described.  Call customer service and appeal.  When you win, it will be just like winning in the first place.  The seller will have to provide a pre-paid return shipping label with tracking, and upon receiving the non-deodorant body spray back, refund your money.  @juliak38757  and Husband, I hope you understand about the appeal.

ps, Since you did not pay with PayPal, you cannot file a case in PayPal.  I know you, if no one else, understands that.  Again, good luck!
